Originally from the Highlands, contemporary artist Keiti Forbes blends her own roots and Scottish identity with personal reflections of Glasgow. “Mo Chridhe” (pronounced moe – chree – ah) is Gaelic for “My Heart”, a central theme for this work which also represents the Heart of the City. Glasgow's origin story (including the four miracles attributed to St Mungo) and local culture are referenced through a series of panels which balance narrative and perspective without being overly traditional or rigid, just like the city itself.
Directly opposite is the Lighthouse, Scotland’s Centre for Design and Architecture. Formerly housing the Glasgow Herald newspaper, the building was completed in 1895 and was the first public design commission for Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
